What Do PlayStation 3 Owners Want Most From Sony? [Sony]
Previously, it was rumored that Kuriyama would be appearing the film version of Tekken, a rumor she denied when I interviewed her for my upcoming book on Japanese schoolgirls.

Direct2Drive indie award finalists named, threatened with Chobot lick
Aside from a spot on Sony’s The Tester, we can’t imagine a contest in the game industry with a much more ominous prize than Direct2Drive’s Vision Award winner. Aside from the $10,000 bounty, apparently the trophy will be presented onstage at the 12th Annual Independent Games Festival by IGN’s one and only lick-happy reporter, Jessica Chobot.
We’ve listed all five of the games up for the Vision Award after the break — a list that includes Hello Games’ Joe Danger and Edmund McMillen’s Super Meat Boy. The awards presentation will be held during GDC 2010, specifically taking place on Thursday, March 11. We here at Joystiq would like to wish all the contestants luck. Also, you might wanna bring a towel. Just in case, ya know?

Sony Pleased As Punch With Apple’s iPad [Apple]
While Nintendo president Satoru Iwata expressed some rather public disappointment with the new Apple iPad yesterday, representatives from rival firm Sony couldn’t be happier.
“Apple’s entrance into the portable gaming space has been a net positive for Sony,” Sony’s John Koller, Director Hardware Marketing, told the Wall Street Journal. “When people want a deeper, richer console, they start playing on a PSP.”
If positive thinking really was a power, Sony would be moving mountains about now.

Greenpeace calls out Nintendo, Microsoft in ‘Greener Electronics’ report

We were really hoping that Nintendo and Microsoft could rally after their near-bottom finishes in former annual iterations of Greenpeace’s green business practice rankings — after all, we bet they’re pretty sick of getting beat by Nokia. (Ewwww!) Unfortunately, this latest “Guide to Greener Electronics” report (.pdf link) looks a lot like all the previous ones: Nintendo finished dead last, and Microsoft finished not far behind. Sony, on the other hand, finished a bit closer to the middle of the road.
Nintendo gets bashed for its increased greenhouse emissions and for failing to control its e-waste recycling. Microsoft, which fell from 15th place to 17th since last year, lost points for not following the statutes set by the “Restriction of Hazardous Substances in electronics directive.” Sony did relatively well in most categories, but also lost a few points for its e-waste management. You know what this means, right? Greenpeace is obviously just a shadow organization for PS3 fanboys. We knew it all along!

Sony Puts In-Theatres Movie On PlayStation Store [Psn]
Earlier this week, Sony accidentally offered Armored – a movie that’s still playing in theatres – for download on the PlayStation Store. What’s more, they offered it for free. Whoops.
It was all a big mistake, of course, and one that was corrected in around five hours, but during that window it was available, people grabbed it, and people are now watching it on their PS3s and PSPs. For free.
Interesting that, mistake or not, the movie had already been processed and cleared for digital download, indicating its actual, intended release may not have been that far away.
